Cultural and Artistic Initiatives

The Italian National Parkinson’s Day is also an opportunity to highlight the role of art as a tool for awareness and connection. Initiatives such as events in Crema and the Dance Well project at the Triennale of Milan showcase how culture and creativity can not only offer new perspectives on the disease but also create spaces for shared reflection and connection. These moments engage a broader audience, promoting empathy and awareness through universal languages like art and movement.

Multidisciplinary Approach and Awareness

In Crema, two main events are planned, organized by ASST Crema, Fondazione Benefattori Cremaschi, and Associazione Tartaruga.

The first event will take place on Friday, November 29, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at the Centro Culturale S. Agostino, Sala Pietro da Cemmo. The event, titled “A Walk with Mr. Parkinson: The Many Faces of the Disease,” includes the presentation of the book “A Walk with Mr. Parkinson,” accompanied by a musical performance. This gathering aims to raise public awareness of the disease through testimonies and artistic contributions.

The second event will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM, at the Fondazione Benefattori Cremaschi, located on Via Zurla. It is a talk titled “Call Me Parkinson,” led by doctors and physiotherapists from the Foundation, broadcast live via streaming. The meeting will offer insights into the disease and therapeutic strategies, with an opportunity for the public to interact and ask questions to the experts.

Dance Well: Art and Movement for Parkinson’s

On this occasion, we also highlight the project Dance Well: Research and Movement for Parkinson’s, hosted by the Triennale of Milan until December 2025.

This innovative initiative promotes contemporary dance as a tool to improve the physical and emotional well-being of people with Parkinson’s. The sessions, open to the public, take place in art spaces and cultural venues, offering participants an experience that goes beyond simple physical activity, transforming it into an opportunity for artistic and social expression. Dance Well represents an example of how art can become an integral part of support strategies for managing the disease.

Classes are held every Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. To register, you need to send a WhatsApp message to +39 351 7173922, specifying your name and surname and requesting to join the Dance Well classes.
