Breakthrough Victory: GONDOLA® Takes Top Prize at StartCup Ticino

The company that developed the medical device GONDOLA® for motor rehabilitation of patients with Parkinson’s disease, won the first edition of the StartCup Ticino, the event established to reward the best entrepreneurial idea in the canton of Italian-speaking Switzerland.

GONDOLA® was selected from among 73 registered projects and was awarded with a prize of 50,000 CHF.

“We are particularly satisfied with this victory, especially because it comes in a competition with many other high-level ideas,” said Francesco Cecchini Manara, founder of the company. “The prize represents further confirmation of the validity and innovation of our discovery and will allow us to finance further clinical studies, in addition to those already carried out, to further validate the therapy also at the scientific level.”

StartCup Ticino is made possible thanks to the contribution of two main sponsors – BSI (Banca della Svizzera Italiana) and La Posta – and co-sponsors CTI, USI, SUPSI, and AutoPostale.
